What Came Out of This Murray Water Heater?

When our plumber drained this 50-gallon water heater in Murray, this is what came out.
Over time, every water heater’s anode rod slowly breaks down. That’s actually its job. The anode rod is a sacrificial metal rod that’s designed to corrode first so the steel tank doesn’t. As it does its job, minerals, sediment, and pieces of the rod can collect inside the tank.
